프랑스의 정치가이자 귀족이며 로마 가톨릭 추기경 이였던 리슐리외 추기경은 1624년 사망할 때까지 루이13세의 재상을 맡았습니다. 대뒤마의 소설 <삼총사 The Three Musketeers>에서 악당 추기경으로 등장하여 세계적으로 알려졌으며, 예술품 collector로서 저명한 인물 이였습니다. Paris에 위치한 Louvre 박물관 탄생에 중추적인 역할을 한 그의 개인 예술콜렉션은 르브루 박물관의 하나의 섹션으로 존재하며 현재도 전시를 통해 소개되고 있습니다.
Richelieu 마을은 Paris에서 남서부쪽으로 3시간 거리에 위치합니다. 예술, 건축, 패션, 음식의 문화 중심지인 리슐리외 마을은 1600년대초 프랑스의 루아르 계곡에 조성 되었습니다. 리슐리외 추기경의 명령으로 11년동안 지어진이성벽으로 둘러싸인 도시는 격자모양으로 배열되어 있으며 많은 저명한 성들과 Chinon, Tours, Saumur 근처에 위치합니다.
이 프로그램은 판화, 건축, 미식을 탐구합니다. 기술을 익히고 리서치와 작업과정을 경험하며 작품을 만듭니다. 재료의 속성, 표현기술, 작품에 내제된 개념을 배우고, 프랑스를 비롯한 다양한 유럽문화를 경험 합니다.
A two week long immersion into printmaking, architecture, design and culinary art in the historical village of Richelieu, France. Students will be invited to expand their creative practice and mentored through developing their portfolio in classes taught by college faculty and practitioners.
This year we are particularly interested in exploring the potential of creative work to generate a desired future. We invite students who are ready to stretch their horizons, interested in professionalizing their creative work, and are excited to learn in a group setting.
Programming will include workshops, field trips, site visits, skill building, communal dinners, and will culminate in a show of student work open to the public.
